Membership is an Honor

A legacy built on invitation and excellence

Membership in Kappa Kappa Iota is considered an honor. A member from the local, state, or national level invites prospective members into the organization — ensuring every Kappa is welcomed by a fellow educator who recognizes their professional standing and character.

"Membership in Kappa Kappa Iota shall be extended to persons of good character who are recognized leaders in the profession of education."

Professional members include educators — defined as any person devoting a major part of their time to teaching or allied work — as well as former educators. Campus membership is extended to full-time education majors at accredited institutions.
