Betty Nunley
Betty Nunley is the heart of Kappa in San Antonio, Texas. She joined Kappa Kappa Iota in 1992 in Midland as a member of Beta Pi Chapter, and when she moved to San Antonio in 2000, she transferred to Alpha Lambda — the largest chapter in Texas, with 30-plus members. Betty has led that group as president for many years, guiding programs built around the Delta State President's theme and bringing members together for learning, fellowship, and service.

Alpha Lambda is a deeply philanthropic chapter, donating school supplies to children, supporting the Wildlife Rescue and Rehab center, feeding families through the San Antonio Food Bank, and participating in Make a Difference Day. Betty has served as Delta State President twice, earned National Membership Awards, and currently serves as Region 2 Empathy Chair. She taught for 40 years — French, English, Math, PE, Science, History, and Credit Recovery — before retiring in 2011. Today she still substitutes three days a week and homeschools her granddaughters the other two.
